EPISODE #3 – RICK MAYO
On this episode of the Fit Pro Podcast I had the pleasure of speaking with Rick Mayo. Rick has quietly built up one of the most profitable gyms in America, along with taking over the National Fitness Business Alliance. He’s a fitness business consultant, but cut from a different cloth. He knows the training stuff better than most people you’ll ever meet, so he’s not one to just give blanket fitness advice that doesn’t take into account the importance of great training and programming. You’ll be hard pressed to find anyone who is also as generous with both his information and his time.
As Rick always does, he flat out over delivers in this episode and I could have easily kept talking for another couple hours with him. We talk everything business from why trainers struggle with sales, better marketing (and he even lays out an entire program for getting local businesses to refer to you), as well as adding layers to your business. If you want to improve your fitness business you’ll probably want to listen to this one a couple of times (I’ve already listened to it 2 more times!).
